BUFC Teams Protect Home Turf in Myrtle Beach Tournament
A pair of Beach United Football Club girls teams captured championships at the YMCA Myrtle Beach Can Am Cup over the weekend of March 2-4.
The BUFC Flash dominated the U-14 Girls division, goiong undefeated in four games to claim the title. The defeated the CASA Storm 2-0 twice, including the championship game, to complete the sweep.
Likewise, the BUFC Panthers ran the table in the Girls U-13 division, defeating the NCFC Eclipse 1-0 in the title game. They also won by scores of 2-1, 5-0 and 3-1 to dominate the Red division.
The BUFC Crush had an interesting weekend in the U-12 Girls division, drawing all three of their contests to narrowly miss out on the finals. They tied by scores of 0-0, 1-1 and 2-2 to finish the tournament undefeated.
In other girls action, the Tigers lost only one game in the U-11 White Division but settled for a pair of ties. The Lightning went 0-3 in a tough U-9/10 Girls Red Division.
In boys action, the BUFC Storm had a good showing in the U-14 division, going 2-2 in tournament play. The BUFC Strikers (U-12) also went 2-2 in the U-12 White division. The Force (U-13) and Crew (U-11) also had a .500 weekend, going 1-1-1 in U-13 play.
The U-15 Legends played three highly competitive games, playing to a couple of hard-fought draws and losing a 3-2 contest. The U-10 Lions went 1-1-2, tying both of their Sunday games.
