Beach United Kicks Off Fall at Myrtle Beach Preseason Classic

The Beach United Football Club will open the 2018 campaign by hosting its own tournament at the Myrtle Beach Preseason Classic at The Market Common on Aug. 25-26.

Dozens of teams from the Southeast will compete in 17 different divisions, featuring boys and girls squads from U-10 through U-19. The event will provide all participating teams with an early tune-up before the fall schedule reaches full swing.

The tournament follows a busy offseason for the club, which included one BUFC family's journey to Zimbabwe with Director of Coaching Thuba Nkomazana to deliver soccer gear to children in need.

Father Thomas and wife Alyssa Stanley, along with children and BUFC past and present players JR, Cade and Kaitlyn, joined Coach Thuba (pictured)  in his native country on a goodwill tour for the club in July.

BUFC also held several fundraisers to help keep players' costs down and send items to underprivilged kids overseas. The Second Annual BUFC Golf Tournament was held in June, and in August BUFC brothers  Bryce and Alex Sobota started Project Golden Goal to collect equipment for needy children overseas. They held a soccer tournament to raise money for the charity.

More club fundraisers are planned for the fall. BUFC will host its inaugural NFL Elimination Pool for a great fundraising opportunity. Each player i asked to sign up three players at a cost of $20 per person. Participants pick one game each week, and as long as you pick a winning teams you continue to stay alive until the last player standing.

Players can set up an online NFL Survivor pool at "" under the name "Beach United Football Club Suicide Pool." The top three winners receive: A. Free Tournement Fee's For the Year; B. $100 Beach United Voucher for apparel; C. $50 Beach United Voucher for apparel.
